My name is Romanayah Opincar-Hughes, and I am currently completing my residency to become a licensed professional counselor. I work with adults ages 18 and up and incorporate person-centered collaboration to develop realistic treatment goals for therapy. My approach is acceptance-based and focuses on building trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship. I help clients address core beliefs and patterns of thought and behavior that prevent optimal functioning and achieving the life they want. Some of the interventions I incorporate are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Psychoeducational Interventions and Positive Psychology Interventions.
I believe that outside of anxiety, fear, and shame lies hope. Change is always possible.
